Investors in People is a U.K. National Quality Standard which sets a level of good practice for improving an organisation's performance through its people.

HRH first achieved Investors In People (IIP) recognition in January 2001. Every three years this accreditation is reviewed to ensure that the principles and indicators of The Standard are being met. This review recently took place with HRH receiving reaccreditation for a further three years.

By continuing to meet this IIP Standard, HRH have shown their ongoing commitment to best practice in people management working towards their business goals in the field of geological services.

The process of gaining the Investors in People Standard is rigorous and with the initial recognition achieved over two hard years in implementing the scheme.

The Investors in People Standard is based on four key principles:

  • Commitment to invest in people to achieve business goals
  • Planning how skills, individuals and teams are to be developed to achieve these goals
  • Action to develop and use necessary skills in a well defined and continuing programme directly tied to business objectives
  • Evaluating outcomes of training and development for individuals' progress towards goals, the value achieved and future needs

The practical benefits of working towards and achieving the Standard include.

  • Customer satisfaction
  • Enhanced quality
  • Improved productivity
  • Improved motivation
  • Public recognition
  • Reduced costs and wastage
  • Improved profitability
  • Competitive advantage through improved performance

The journey to IIP recognition was long and hard, but well worth the effort and demonstrates HRH's continued commitment to their staff and customers.
